75 residences gutted in Bengal village

More than 75 residences of 26 families were gutted after fire spread a hearth at Muradpur village near Jalangi on Indo-Bangla border in Murshidabad district.

More than 75 residences of 26 families were gutted on Saturday after fire spread a hearth at Muradpur village near Jalangi on Indo-Bangla border in Murshidabad district.

Local MLA Younus Sarkar said there has been no report of any casualty but the fire caused huge loss to the families.

BSF jawans from a nearby camp joined hands with villagers in dousing the flames. Two fire tenders were also pressed into service, police said.
