Months have passed and lying in the burn ward of UHM Hospital, Razia is pleading for justice against the man who ruined her life. But the ordeal of Razia doesn’t end there. A few days back, the culprit was released on bail and started threatening Razia and her kin. as they were responsible for his 10-month long imprisonment. On August 10, 2005, Aslam, cousin of Razia, poured acid on Razia and her younger sister Shazia when they were asleep on the terrace of their house at Bhunna in Kannauj because he faikled to get Rs 20,000 from her which she got under Kanya Vidya Dhan. A badly burnt Razia was then admitted to the burn ward of the UHM Hospital where she is recuperating.
However, both Razia and her father Shakir Ali are frightened with the release of Aslam. A student of BA-I in Swami Shivanand Mahavidyalaya in Kannauj, Razia could not continue her studies due to the acid attack. Ten months have passed and a badly burnt Razia has tried several times to tell her woes to the CM, who had awarded her Kanya Vidya Dhan.
To get justice, Shakir also visited Lucknow several times but could not meet the CM. Pleading to people for help, a sobbing Razia, while talking to HT said, “Now Aslam is roaming freely and he has even hired some criminals to eliminate my father.” She urged higher officials to come to her rescue as her father, who is a farmer and owns only 4 bigha of land, has become bankrupt by spending money on her treatment.
