The Army on Thursday said that investigations and inquiries into the 'tent and egg scam' in the Northern Command had only revealed "procedural aberrations" and administrative action had been initiated against defaulting personnel.

"The inquires into the irregularities in the tent and egg scam have been completed," Army sources said in New Delhi.
The cases had been investigated as per Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor's instructions that strict standards of probity should be maintained.
Sources made it clear that investigations are conducted by courts whose members are assured of institutionalised legal and investigative independence.
They said that transfers of senior officers, specially the Army commanders had no impact on the investigation process.
