While presiding over a meeting at district collectorate to review the preparations, Dr Hariom said that a control room has been established at district collectorate.
He directed the subordinates to maintain strict vigil in view of the festivals and the election. He further directed them to intensify the patrolling in sensitive areas.
The polling for the corporation election will be held on October 21 and the polling parties would leave for their destination on October 30. While in the second round on November 3, the panchayat would go to poll.
Responding to a question, Dr Hariom repeatedly said that FIR would be launched against the candidate who violate the election code of conduct and said the prohibitory order has been issued in the district.
Police have divided the municipal corporation area in 34 sectors and six zones. Chiluatal police station has been made the headquarters for the zone first, while Shahpur, Gorakhnath, Cantonment and Tiwaripur police station will be the control room for other zones.
Dr Hariom said that armed police force will be deployed at each police station and directed the subordinate officials to prepare the list of banners and posters of different candidates in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, municipal corporation officials carried out a drive to remove the banner and posters of the candidates in various localities.
They removed around 150 posters and banners of different political leaders at Ghosh Company, Betiahata, Cantonment crossing and other areas.
