“Dhoni and Harbhajan conspired to finish his cricketing career. Dhoni had threatened him recently that he wouldn’t get to wear the Indian cap again. And Harbhajan framed him with the help of a DySP of the Punjab Police,” Nair had said earlier on Thursday.

However, he later apologised for what he called “an emotional outburst of a father”. “We are in the dark about what really happened,” he said after watching the tapes released by the Delhi Police. Sreesanth’s mother Savithri Devi said she had spoken to her son and he had “stoutly denied the charges”.

K Janardhanan, the father of Jiju Janardhanan who has been accused of being the main link between fixers and the cricketer, admitted that his son and Sreesanth have known each other since their junior days.
