AI flight makes emergency landing at Mumbai airport
An Air India flight carrying 286 passengers from Jeddah made an emergency landing at the Mumbai airport on Wednesday afternoon after the pilot suspected hydraulic failure in the aircraft.

An Air India (AI) flight carrying 286 passengers from Jeddah made an emergency landing at the Mumbai airport on Wednesday afternoon after the pilot suspected hydraulic failure in the aircraft.
Around 1 pm, 30 minutes before its scheduled time of arrival, the pilot south permission from the Mumbai air traffic control office to land on priority.
According to the standard operating procedure, fire tenders, ambulances and safety vehicles were stationed close to the tarmac before the flight landed. The flight landed safely at 1.48 pm and passengers were deplaned.
An AI spokesperson confirmed the incident. The spokesperson said that the pilot’s decision to make an emergency landing was a precautionary measure.
