Jamal, along with two dozen other AICC members, will participate in the 82nd AICC convention to be held at Hyderabad on January 21 and 22.

Jamal, along with two dozen other AICC members, will participate in the 82nd AICC convention to be held at Hyderabad on January 21 and 22.
He said eastern UP is lagging behind in economic development in comparison to Bundelkhand and western UP, adding that successive State Governments had ignored this region. Therefore, AICC members from the region would demand special attention from the Central Government, he said.
The other AICC members who accompanied Dr Jamal were Sanjeev Kumar Singh of Deoria, Dr Pradeep Pandey, Gama Singh, Chhedi Prasad Jaiswal, Bhupendra Narain Pathak, Satish Rana, Dinesh Singh, Ram Janam Yadav, Chhote Lal Tiwari from Gorakhpur, while Sudama Prasad, Sharad Kumar Singh from Maharajganj, Ishwarchand Shukla from Siddharthnagar and Kusum Tiwari from Ghazipur were in the team which left for Secunderabad via Gorakhpur railway station.
Congress leaders raised slogans in favour of party president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and State party president Salman Khurshid. Hundreds of the party workers were present at the platform to boost the morale of All India Congress Committee members. Delegation member Dr Pradeep Pandey said that recommendations of Patel Commission should be implemented for development of eastern UP.
All India Congress Committeemember and Congress general secretary Harikesh Bahadur, Union Minister Mahavir Prasad, senior party leader Ram Krishna Dwivedi and All India Congress Committee member Kamal Kishor would also raise the demand for special economic package for eastern UP.
They hope that Congress leaders would pay attention to their demands.
