HEAVY RUSH of applicants for the clerical posts’ examination created a panicky situation at the Staff Selection Service Commission office at New Katra here on Wednesday.
The arrangement made by the Staff Selection Commission authorities for the candidates who came to submit the clerical grade examination forms seemed to have gone haywire following an unexpectedly large number of candidates turning up for it. Despite having made arrangement of pandals to cope with the rush the candidates shouted slogans against the SSC authorities.
However, police rushed at the spot to control the candidates. Some of candidates alleged that police resorted to cane charge but SSC officials denied it.
On the other side residents living nearby the SSC office had to face an awkward situation in the wake of rude behaviour of applicants who came from far flung places of the state to deposit their forms by hand.
Some residents told HT Allahabad Live that these candidates created great nuisance in the locality.
Vijay Kumar, a resident, said that his family was much disturbed during the period as the candidates who had come for submission of forms trespassed their residence.
Sources said that April 7 is the last date for submission of forms.
SSC officials said that extra arrangements would be made to minimise the inconvenience being faced by the candidates.
