The medical examination of the girl, who happens to be the third victim, was conducted on Thursday and confirmed that she had been raped.

Accused Raju, caretaker, and Suparana Sethi, owner of the NGO, are already behind bars. The police are looking for Santosh Kumar, a cook in the NGO.

“After the medical test confirmed rape, we conducted raids to arrest accused Santosh Kumar,” said Maheshwar Dayal, DCP (crime).

None of the children attended the school after the incident was reported on May 4.

“Monika (name changed) is physically challenged and was brought to the NGO with the false promise of getting treatment. She was always projected as a patient in dire need of financial help for getting medicines. She was forced to work in the NGO as a servant. The caretaker and the cook raped and molested her,” alleged Nisha Yadav, the whistleblower in the orphanage abuse case.

“Santosh contacted me and claimed that he wanted to give evidence about the NGO owner but never turned up,” added Yadav.

The children also disclosed that they were not provided three meals a day.

Anganwadi workers and some RWAs are now providing food to the inmates.
