Arcelor, Mittal Steel to discuss business plan

Arcelor said its review of the plan, which it received last Friday, was continuing but it had identified a number of questions.

Executives from European steel group Arcelor and Mittal Steel are to meet in the coming days to discuss a business plan Mittal has submitted as part of its unsolicited bid for Arcelor, the group said on Wednesday.

Arcelor said its review of the plan, which it received last Friday, was continuing but it had identified a number of questions.

"Arcelor anticipates that a meeting between representatives of the two management teams to discuss the Mittal Steel standalone business plan will take place in the coming days," the company said in a statement on its website.
