Armyman's wife killed in accidental fire

Wife of an Armyman has been killed when a bullet from his husband's gun accidentally went off in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, police said.

The incident took place at Punwader village in the district last night when jawan Ashwani Kumar was cleaning his
gun, they said, adding the gun went off accidentally and the bullet pierced through the chest of her wife, Pooja.

Pooja was immediately rushed to a hospital, where she was declared brought dead, they said.

Police have registered a case and the jawan has been detained, they added.
