B'desh returns Indian villagers after 3 yrs

Six Indian villagers, kidnapped by Bangladesh Rifles three years ago, have been handed over to the BSF.

Six Indian villagers, kidnapped by Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) three years ago, have been handed over to the Border Security Force, sources said on Thursday.

The villagers had been kidnapped when they were working in an agricultural field near Indo-Bangla border at Belonia in south Tripura district.

They were sentenced to three years' imprisonment by a Bangladesh court on the charge of illegally entering the country.
