The government came under fire in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, while Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan warned against “interference in judiciary.”
Describing it as a “rarest of rare cases,” the CJI said in an interview to CNN-IBN that the judge had done the right thing by refusing to hear the case after having revealed the truth.
Justice Balakrishnan also defended Justice R Reghupati for not having named the minister, who allegedly tried to pressurise him. In Rajya Sabha, the matter was raised during the Zero Hour by the Leader of the Opposition, Arun Jaitley.
