Batch of 2,000 leaves Jammu for Amarnath yatra
A batch of more than 2,000 pilgrims left the Jammu base camp for their onward journey to the cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir amid tight security arrangements. The 12th batch of pilgrims, consisting of 2,119 devotees left from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu around 5am, police said, adding that the convoy included 72 vehicles.

The 12th batch of pilgrims, consisting of 2,119 devotees left from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu around 5am, police said, adding that the convoy included 72 vehicles.
The batch, which included 1,547 males, 434 females, 40 children and 98 sadhus, left for Srinagar to perform Amarnath Yatra in a convoy of 72 vehicles, including 52 buses and 20 light motor vehicles, they said.
In 12 days, 27,467 pilgrims have left Jammu base camp for Amarnath so far.Meanwhile, a fresh batch of around 10,000 pilgrims left for Amarnath cave shrine from both Baltal and Pahalgam base camps on Monday morning.
Police sources said 4,936 yatirs comprising 4,027 males, 875 females and 34 sadhus left Baltal base camp for the holy cave. They added that another batch of 5,116 yatris comprising 4,157 males and 887 females and 72 sadhus left Pahalgam base camp on traditional yatra route. A total of 990 yatris also left for holy cave using chopper services on Monday.
A total of 1,42,648 pilgrims have performed darshans till Sunday in the yatra that started on June 28.
