BDO Prabhudayal Yogi was suspended by the Rajasthan government on Thursday following a probe into misappropriation of MNREGA funds, Zilaparishad sources said in Bundi.
They said that Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj C P Joshi had asked District Collector Aarti Dogra to direct an inquiry into complaints of delay in payments of works done under MNREGA.
The inquiry found the BDO guilty of violating account rules and committing financial irregularities in the recent work of painting and enlisting of names of BPL families on the walls of the Panchayat Samiti, the sources said.
Yogi was served a suspension notice by the state government which acted upon the inquiry report submitted to it by the District Collector, they added.
