Rajesh Karvi, 30, was arrested by the police after he told the management of Radhakrishna Public School that he would file a false case of sexual harassment against a teacher for ‘raping’ his son.

The head mistress of the school filed a complaint with the police alleging that Karvi has been trying to blackmail the school management for a week. On Monday, the police arrested Karvi red-handed when he accepted Rs 1 lakh as an ‘advance’ payment.

Additional commissioner of police Hemanth Nimbalkar told reporters that Rajesh wanted to abuse provisions of the POCSO Act by foisting a false case against a school staffer. "He wanted to use his innocent son to extort the money. According to our information, he had also enlisted the help of a lawyer to carry out the fraud," Nimbalkar said.
