Big carpet trade fair begins today

India Carpet Expo, a big carpet trade fair will commence in Varanasi, with Union Minister for Textile Shankersinh Vaghela inaugurating the fair on Saturday. The fair will provide an opportunity for the carpet manufactures to showcase their products before the buyers from different parts of the globe.

Vaghela is scheduled to inaugurate the fair in the morning tomorrow, according to VR Sharma, chairman of Carpet Export Promotion Council.

“A large number of eminent carpet buyers all over the world have been selected for this carpet expo”, Sharma told reporters last evening, adding, around 137 buyers from overseas countries would participate in this trade fair.

“The number of carpet buyers who will participate in the trader fair from outside India include 35 from USA, 25 from Germany, 10 from Australia, 9 from South Africa, 8 from Belgium, 8 from Denmark, 8 from Spain, 5 from Brazil, 4 from UK and 25 from other different countries”, he said.
