Bihar: Maoists blow up CRPF personnel's house

Maoists on blew up the house of a CPRF personnel in Maoist-affected Aurangabad district of Bihar on Thursday morning. The CRPF personnel, Vinod Singh, is currently posted with the Combat Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) in anti-Maoist operations at Barachatti in Gaya.
This is the second instance within a week when Maoists have targeted the house of a security personnel. Earlier on July 24, Maoists had blasted the two-storied house of a police inspector-cum-SHO of Town police station (Katihar), Kedar Nath Singh, at Manjhauli village in Amba police station area of Aurangabad district.
Aurangabad SP Upendra Kumar Sharma said the Maoists members raided Pipra village late last and asked all the inmates to vacate it. "Later, they used explosives to blow it up. The house is damaged in the blast, but there is no casualty," he added.
Shouting slogans against the government and CRPF before leaving, the Maoists left pamphlets. Locals said the Maoists claimed that the action was in protest against the July 19 police firing at Madanpur in Aurangabad. Two persons had died in the police firing.
The SP said that raids were on to nab the Maoists. However, no arrest had been made.
On July 24, the Maoists had given a bandh call in protest against the police firing and torched a a mobile tower and control room of a private telecom operator in a Meerganj village under Madanpur police station.
They also targeted Rajdhani express trains on the Mughalsarai-Gaya section of Danapur division of the east-central railway during the bandh and blew up a portion of a railway track between Ismailpur and Rafiganj section in Aurangabad, leading to derailment of a pilot engine running ahead of the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express train.
