BJP, Cong men clash in Mehrauli, 6 injured

At least six people were injured and a police vehicle was damaged as BJP and Congress supporters clashed in a South Delhi area on Monday, exchanging blows and abuses.

At least six people were injured and a police vehicle was damaged as BJP and Congress supporters clashed in a South Delhi area on Monday, police sources said.

The supporters of the rival parties exchanged blows and used batons against each other at around noon in Bhatti village of Mehrauli over a petty issue related to polling, they said. At least six people were injured in the incident, they said.

As police stepped in to intervene, the mob attacked a Police Control Room (PCR) van damaging it, they said.

Additional police personnel were rushed to the scene of the incident and the situation was brought under control.
