"It is very disturbing to know that the dates for the J & K polls have not been announced. It is a matter of great concern and it only adds to the agenda of the separatists," BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy told PTI.

"Are we giving voice to the separatist," he asked.

The saffron party demanded immediate "resumption" of political activity in Jammu and Kashmir and declaration of the dates for the polls.

"Political activity should be resumed in Jammu and Kashmir and a popular government be installed at the earliest. There is an urgent need to give space to mainstream political parties in the state," Rudy said.

"It seems that the situation is not conducive only because the Congress is losing ground in the state," he said.

Skipping a decision on polls in Jammu and Kashmir, the Election Commission on Monday announced election schedules for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Delhi and Chattisgarh.

Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswami said that the commission is still assessing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
