THE BHARATIYA Janata Party (BJP) is planning to mobilise people in favour of Vande Mataram by taking out ‘Vande Mataram Udgosh Yatra’ from September 1 to 5 in the city.

The district unit of the party had already launched a poster campaign in the city to build up an atmosphere for the ‘Vande Mataram Udgosh Yatras’ to be taken out from September 1.

During its five-day campaign starting from Friday, BJP would take out yatras in all parts of the city in the run up to the centenary celebration on September 7. Senior leaders of the party would accompany the yatras to boost the morale of party workers.

Apart from the yatras, the district unit of the party has already launched a poster campaign in the city to mobilise masses for the grand function on September 7.

On the centenary day of Vande Mataram on September 7, BJP workers at the ward and district levels would recite the national song in groups. Media spokesperson of BJP Anoop Awasthi said, “The party is planning to mark the 100th centenary of the song like a big festive occasion.”

Southern unit of the party was also planning to mark the occasion by organising various functions.
