Bomb threat at Chennai port

Patrolling has been intensified in and around the port while efforts were on to trace the source of the letter.

An anonymous letter claiming that a boat carrying explosives was likely to blow up at Chennai port prompted authorities to tighten security in the area.

The hand-written letter, posted from Tirunelveli, was received by the port authorities on Saturday, sources said.

Security has been tightened at exit and entry points of the port.
