A BRITISH national Sara Lucy Kilvert Jones on Wednesday married a Sikh Gurkirpal Singh Saund at a Gurdwara in Jabalpur. Sara, 28, daughter of Paul Jones and Alison of Reading near London, said her dream came true. She likes things Indian, the country its culture, spiritualism and food right from childhood.

No, the marriage wasn’t the result of love at the first sight. She first met Gurkirpal, 32, son of Satnan Singh Saund and Hardeep Kaur of Jabalpur at Osho International Meditation Resort, Pune, in December 2004.

We became friends and later fell in love. I proposed the marriage quite jokingly and he accepted it, the blonde, dressed in red attire, said in a delighted manner.

My mother came to India and met Gurkirpal. Similarly, bridegroom’s mother met me. Both the families agreed to solemnisation of marriage in India. Unfortunately, no one from my family could attend the marriage as they were busy in England, Sara said.

Gurkirpal said he was feeling himself the happiest men on the earth to have such an understanding life partner. As for whether the two will settle in India or abroad, she said, they haven’t yet made plan to either settle in India or England. But, I love India, she said.
