Dasgupta is actively considering the proposal of making a film in Malayalam but things have not been worked out so far.

While declining to speak about the possible subject in case the film is made, he confirmed it would have his trademark poetic style.

"In each and every film, I want to surpass my last work. I hate to make films just for the heck of it," the director said.

On whether he has any plans to direct a film for children, Dasgupta said "if at all I do such a film, that will happen after a couple of years."

A rare honour awaits Dasgupta when his latest film Kalpurush (Memories in Mist), starring Mithun Chakrabarty, Rahul Bose and Bollywood sizzler Sameera Reddy in a deglamourised role, is screened at the prestigious Berlin film festival next month, kicking off this year's European circuit premiere of the movie.
