Bush leaves Pakistan after a 26-hour visit

Bush was seen off at the airport at the Chaklala defence airbase in Rawalpindi by Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid M Kasuri.

US President George W Bush left Pakistan on Saturday night after paying a 26 hour visit during which he held talks with President Pervez Musharraf on issues relating to terrorism, India-Pak peace process and improvement of bilateral relations.

He was seen off at the airport at the Chaklala defence airbase in Rawalpindi by Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid M Kasuri.

Bush arrivedin Pakistan on Fridaynight after a three day visit to India and held a three hour long meeting with Musharraf on Saturday.

Later, he took part in an event along with top Pakistani cricketers to know about the basics of cricket.

Bush visited Pakistan despite a suicide bomb attack in which an American Consulate official was killed in Karachi on March 2.

Pakistan police in coordination with US security officials made elaborate security arrangements for Bush and wife Laura Bush.
