Chair chase ends, House ready for takers

A brand new Ambassador car has been booked for the newly elected Mayor Dr Dinesh Sharma. The old robe has been done away with and a new black silk robe has been ordered. Similarly, his room on the first floor of the LMC building has been furnished, polished and painted. Though the furniture of the room is old, the room has been given a new look. New telephones have also been installed in his room. The arrangement at both, Trilok Nath Hall, where the oath-taking ceremony would take place and the house of the LMC where the corporators would meet, is getting finishing touches. The hall is getting painted and fitting of new lights and fans is on. Air-conditioning system is being installed in the hall.

“The oath has been sent for printing and we are getting ready for the ceremony.

We have yet to receive a notification from the Election Commission directing us to go ahead with the swearing in. Once we get the notification from the EC we will organise the ceremony within a week,” said AC Sinha, additional municipal commissioner. Rooms of all the corporators have been painted and toilets renovated. Officials at the LMC say they want to welcome the mayor and corporators with a clean set up.
