Pimpalgaon Baswant police have registered a cheating case against Kiran Shantaram, his son Rahul and Bhavana Shetty, for not paying the promised amount to Ramesh Suryawanshi filmmaker of 'Jai Athara Bhuja Saptshrungi Mata'.
Suryawanshi had produced the Marathi movie starring Baban Gholap the former Sena Minister and Alka Kubal in the lead roles, released two years back.
An agreement in August 2007 was signed between Suryawanshi and Kiran Shantaram, Rahul and Bhavana giving them distributorship rights of the film at Rs 10.25 lakh.
But Suryawanshi was not paid the full amount as agreed, thus he approached the Pimpalgaon Baswant court, on which the court directed the police to register the cheating case against the trio, under various sections of IPC, police added.
