CM for teaching English in madrasas

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee on Saturday advocated teaching of English in madrasas as it was the age of computer and one could not learn computer without the knowledge of English.

Addressing a public meeting of the CPI(M) at Jaynagar in South 24 Parganas district, Bhattacharjee said, "The curricula in schools and madrasas should be equal so that "our children could avail good education."

He also stressed on electrification and better road connectivity in rural areas.

Development of industry and that of agriculture should go side by side, the Chief Minister said.

The Left Front would never compromise with communal forces, which, he claimed, was trying to set its foot in West Bengal.
