The committee would be meeting every Monday to review the pending applications and clarify any queries from the applicants. The decision to this effect was taken by Communications and IT Minister Dayanidhi Maran.

DoT has so far received 15 and 6 applications for NLD and ILD services respectively, which are pending at different stages of processing, an official release said.

DoT, in November 2005, had simplified the procedures for NLD and ILD licences so as to facilitate the growth of the IT enabled services in the country.

The three-member committee would be comprising of Joint Secretary (Telecom), Deputy Director General (Basic Services) and Deputy Director General (Value Added Services).
