Ram Sanehi was till recently working in the UP State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) as a driver on contract.

He was assured by one Suresh Gupta, who ran a brick-kiln in Jalalpur village that he would get his (Ram Sanehi’s) services in the UPSRTC regularised. Claiming that the then UPSRTC MD was his relative, Gupta, resident of 120 A-Indira Nagar, Lucknow, asked for Rs 1 lakh for the job. Ram Sanehi exhausted all his resources to collect the amount. He even sold his land and gave the money to Gupta.

However, Gupta could not redeem his promise. While hundreds of drivers were recruited, Ram Sanehi continued to work on contract. And he was later sacked.
While Ram Saneshi was under pressure to return the loan, Gupta did not pay any heed to his repeated requests. He ultimately refused to pay back Rs 1 lakh on one pretext or the other.

With no option left, Ram Sanehi decided to take the extreme step to commit suicide, along with his wife, and kill Gupta. He meticulously chalked out a plan.

The ‘human bomb’ went to meet Gupta and once again asked for his money on Tuesday.

He intentionally scuffled with Gupta and, in the process, pulled a wire which activated the bomb hidden in his underwear. The blast was so strong that the roof of the room collapsed and all the four persons — Ram Sanehi, his wife, Gupta and a labourer — died.
