Opposition's TDP MLAs alleged that the ruling Congress MLAs amassed wealth by 'pocketing' the flood relief fund. The TDP MLAs who levelled allegations included P Pulla Rao (Chilakaluripet), D Narendra (Ponnur) and N Anand Babu (Vemuru).

Ministers-K Lakshmi Narayana and M V Ramana Rao denied the charges and advised the Opposition not to derive political mileage from the natural calamity.
