The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Women's President has begun fasting to urge Sonia Gandhi to accept prime ministerial responsibility.
The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Women's President Pratibha Pandey on Tuesday began a fast at the Congress Bhavan here while the JPCC urged AICC President Sonia Gandhi to accept prime ministerial responsibility.
Pandey said she would continue with her fast till a positive decision was taken by Sonia Gandhi.
"She should not care what the BJP says, the mandate was in her favour and she should accept the responsibility," Pandey added.
The JPCC spokesman, Sailesh Sinha, said the people had given her mandate and she had been instrumental in routing the BJP led NDA Government.
Stating that the entire Congress family was solidly behind her, he said all leaders would launch agitation in the event of Gandhi not becoming the Prime Minister.
