The party approached the Governor since the state government did not grant prosecution power to the investigating agency on "flimsy ground," party sources said.

An NPCC delegation led by its President K V Pusa met the Governor K Sankaranarayanan and urged him that prosecution sanction be granted to CBI against the charge-sheeted persons in connection with VRS scam case.

Nagaland government had decided to close down the sick sugar mills at Dimapur and came out with a VRS package for its employees but gross irregularities were reported when industries department implemented the scheme.
