Congress hits out at Patnaik
As the ruling BJD raised the bogey of Oriya ‘swabhiman’ (self-respect) at a rally in New Delhi on Wednesday, a senior Congress leader joined issue, saying there was no ‘swabhiman’ in not knowing one’s language.

As the ruling BJD raised the bogey of Oriya ‘swabhiman’ (self-respect) at a rally in New Delhi on Wednesday, a senior Congress leader joined issue, saying there was no ‘swabhiman’ in not knowing one’s language.
“It is ironic that a CM (Naveen Patnaik) who cannot speak or write the state’s official language is talking about Oriya swabhiman,” said former minister Niranjan Patnaik.
