BSP has launched an operation cleanup against leaders with alleged criminal antecedents.

"The chief minister has asked her partymen to prepare a list of people with criminal background by April 30 whereas we can give such a list to her within 24 hours," Rita Bahuguna Joshi said at a public meeting here last night.

"How can the elements that enjoy the patronage of the ministers and chief minister be arrested by the police", she alleged.

"Common people are facing power and water crisis whereas the state government is wasting funds on setting up stone structures and issuing advertisements," she said.

The UPCC president also attacked the Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav for repeatedly joining hand with communal forces for power.
