Congress to kick off poll campaign from Kalka on Feb 21

Congress announced that it will blow its poll bugle for the Lok Sabha election from Kalka assembly constituency in Haryana on February 21.

Congress on Sunday announced that it will blow its poll bugle for the Lok Sabha election from Kalka assembly constituency in Haryana on February 21.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, her son and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi are the likely star campaigners, according to AICC treasurer and Haryana affairs in-charge, Moti Lal Vohra.

"We have fulfilled all our promises and we will be seeking votes on the issue of the Hooda government's and the UPA's achievements during their tenure," Vora, told a press conference here after chairing the first meeting of the party's recently constituted State Election Campaign committee in Chandigarh.

He said the during campaign, which will start from Kalka represented by sacked deputy chief minister Chander Mohan, public meetings will be held in all important areas of the constituency.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the campaign committee chairman Venod Sharma besides state unit president Phool Chand Mullana were also present at the press conference announcing the campaign.

Vora said the party candidates for the 10 Lok Sabha seats from Haryana are likely to be finalised by the end of next month.
