She was delivering a keynote address during a seminar on ‘Bio-diversity in dry lands’ at the Regional Office of Environment Directorate in Hukulganj area to mark International Bio-Diversity Day here on Monday.
She said changes in climate, increasing industrial activities and access use of natural resources were the main factors behind degradation in bio-diversity in dry lands. Another faculty member of BHU, Dr SK Tripathi and lecturer of the Botany department at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Dr Rajni Srivastava were special guests.
A NGO Society for Social Action and Research organised a seminar to mark International Bio-diversity Day at Agrasen Girls’ Inter College in Maidagin area.
