A cop was arrested after he made a bid on the life of an inspector at the Police Training College in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A cop was arrested after he made a bid on the life of an inspector at the Police Training College (PTC) in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

After a verbal duel with inspector Ragubir Singh, under-trainee Mangal Singh took out a rifle and fired at his senior officer this afternoon, PTC principal Sardar Khan told PTI.

However, the inspector was saved as another jawan had pushed the rifle during the firing, and the bullet pierced through the roof, he said.

A case was registered against the under-trainee, who was suspended and arrested after the attack, Khan said, adding that a probe has also been ordered into the incident.
