Cops kidnap Congress office-bearer
A district Congress office bearer against whom over 10 crime cases were pending in local police station was kidnapped under mysterious circumstances from his Husainganj house in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The group of persons who picked up Om Prakash Yadav alias Shera Yadav, the Congress office bearer, identified themselves as cops.
Yet another Congress leader Babulal Nirvan was also kidnapped from Bazar Khala area in February and he was yet to be traced.
Congress activists later gheraoed the Husainganj police station demanding to register a case of kidnapping. SSP Navniet Sekera, however, not only ruled out the kidnapping of Yadav but also that the police had picked him up.
The incident came into light after Yadav's kin reached the Husainganj police station in the morning inquiring if the cops had brought him for interrogation. The policemen at the police station, however, categorically denied to have visited Yadav's house in the night. They also denied to have any information about Yadav's whereabouts.
The family members of Yadav later informed the district Congress office about his 'kidnapping'. A group of party activists reached the police station and staged a sit-in demanding to lodge a case of kidnapping.
The kin of Yadav stated that about five persons in plain clothes entered their Havlock Road house identifying themselves as police team from Husainganj police station around 2.30 a.m. They asked Om Prakash Yadav to accompany them, as they had to interrogate him regarding some matter. Initially Yadav refused to go with the intruders but later was forced to leave the house with them.
The police said Yadav had criminal antecedents and over 10 cases of heinous crimes were registered against him. However, it was yet to be confirmed if Yadav was picked up by the police or someone else picked him up.
