?Daddy?s girl? Dokic has grown up!
If Jelena Dokic made news with her winning ways at The Championships in the past, Dad Damir Dokic was not far behind.
If Jelena Dokic made news with her winning ways at The Championships in the past, Dad Damir Dokic was not far behind. In fact, he was one of the pet topics for the British tabloids who managed to do everything wrong to get into print! This time, "Bad Dad Damir" may not be seen around SW 19 as the daughter has grown up and is dating motor racing hunk Enrique Bernoldi.
As of now, Jelena is in pole position with Bernoldi and says she is geared up for Wimbledon.

While Jelena thinks the world of Bernoldi, Damir thinks otherwise, leading to a strained relation with the daughter. "My Dad does not travel with me anymore. I live my life my own way and make my own decisions," she said.
Hang out
One of the best places to hang around in the days leading to The Championships is Wimbledon Village. After a hard day's work at practice, the players and coaches can be seen late afternoon hanging around the pubs. There's no security fear for the players with well known faces like Andy Roddick and coach Brad Gilbert also standing out in the crowd. And yes, if you happen to be an autograph hunter, this is the right place.
No bowing
So, the All England Club is trying to shed tradition and appear modern. For the first time in 80 years, players will not need to make the traditional bow before the Royal Box on Wimbledon's Centre Court, a move which had mixed reactions from the players. Nobody ever complained in the open about making the traditional bow, but yes, the Williams sisters - Serena and Venus -- do feel bad it has been stopped.
Even though the decision to stop the courtesy was made official in April, the moment has come now.
Queuing up
It happens only at Wimbledon. Despite the heavy rain on Monday morning, tennis lovers who had managed to get tickets had started queuing up as early as 10 am for entering All England Club as soon as the gates were opened.
The security drill which they had to go through was stricter than before, but that was something which even the badge holders were subjected to.
