A debt-ridden farmer allegedly committed suicide near here in East Godavari district, police said today.

A debt-ridden farmer allegedly committed suicide near here in East Godavari district, police said on Thursday.
V Nageswara Rao (55), a resident of Tallapaka village, consumed pesticides in his house on Wednesday. He had suffered heavy losses in the last year's kharif season and was in heavy debt, they said.
Police have registered a case and investigating the matter.
