Deity to be decorated with ice blocks

AN ATTRACTIVE ?Him Sringar? of Baba Kal Bhairav will be performed on September 2. It would be for the first time in the history of Varanasi that the deity of Baba Kal Bhairav will be decorated with ice-blocks.

Coordinator of Sringar, Alok Tiwari, said that noted artist of Varanasi, Shanker Sarkar, and his associates would decorate the deity of Lord Kal Bhairav with 101 ice-blocks. Besides, the images of Baba Amarnath Barfani, Lord Ganesh and Lord Hanuman would also be erected from ice-blocks.

Mahant of the temple, Pradeep Nath, said said that the idol of Baba Kal Bhairav would be placed on a lotus-shaped base which would also be made from ice-blocks. He added that besides ice-blocks, three quintal flowers would be used in the decoration.

He said that five Vedic Brahmins would perform the Jalabhishek of Baba Kal Bhairav in traditional way.
