The buses belonging to Uttar Pradesh Roadways were not being allowed to enter Delhi since November last year when Uttar Pradesh authorities impounded over 100 Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses, without notice.

The passengers had to disembark at Badarpur border area and then take another vehicle to reach their destinations in the national capital.

There were two rounds of talks between officials of the two sides. Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Ramachal Rajbhar is likely to meet his counterpart from Delhi Haroon Yusuf to ink the new agreement, in a day or two, sources in Agra said on Friday.

Uttar Pradesh Roadways (UP Roadways) managing director Devdutt and secretary transport met officials of DTC to thrash out a working arrangement.

UP Roadways officials indicated that Chief Minister Mayawati took the long pending issue on priority and ordered her officials to resolve the stalemate.

UP Roadways had suffered a loss of Rs 15 million (Rs 1.5 crore) in the past six months.
