The SCO Group, a leading provider of UNIX(R) software technology and mobile services, announced that it has implemented an integrated banking solution at Dena Bank.

This solution connects more than 400 branches of Dena Bank throughout the country, on a single banking solution stack, and enables it to deliver IT enabled retail banking services across all its branches, said the company's press release.

The integrated banking solution is built around CheqMate, an branch banking solution from Nextstep Infotech, a SCO solution partner and a leading banking software solutions provider, and enables Dena Bank to offer a number of IT-enabled banking services including retail banking, fast cheque collection, any-branch banking, while setting the foundations for a possible foray into other modern banking services such as tele-banking, mobile-banking and Internet banking.

Through the integrated banking solution, the banks were keen to initially achieve operational efficiency and standardisation of their retail banking applications and subsequently offer more modern banking services such as mobile banking, tele-banking, etc.

Dena Bank’s prime concerns were to have a proven, modular, robust, secure, cost-effective and integrated solution that could be run on industry standard platforms and be easily managed by their existing IT teams with ease. CheqMate, running on SCO OpenServer and Intel server platforms, fit Dena Bank’s requirements perfectly, says the press release.
