She allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the terrace of the seven-storey building.

According to the panchnama done by the Goregaon police, the deceased has been identified as Ila Narayan Swami Varudandi (63). Officials also found a pair of footwear on the terrace, hinting she must have jumped from there.

Senior Police Inspector Surendra Paithankar said body had been sent to Bhagwati hospital for post-mortem.

Police investigation revealed Varudandi was a resident of a nearby society Mahindra Garden and used to stay there with one of her three sons, who deals in computer hardware.

She was suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes, due to which she was under depression and was being treated at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Andheri.

In a similar incident, in February, a 16-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the terrace of a building in Kandivli.
