SDM R P Tripathi was suspended on the charges of dereliction of duties with immediate effect and orders in this regard were issued on Wednesday night, official sources said here on Thursday.

With this, the number of officers who have been suspended in connection with Dindori district firing, has gone up to two as the government also suspended a Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP), J P Uike on the same charges, they said.

During his suspension Tripathi will remain attached to the Divisional Commissioner's office in Jabalpur, sources said.
