DIOS withholds 80 teachers? salary

As a result the teachers have raised their voice against the decision of DIOS and demanded revocation of the order in the larger interest of education.
Notably, despite strict guidelines issued by the DIOS, nearly 80 examiners belonging to the aided higher secondary schools and intermediate colleges did not participate in the evaluation of the answer-sheets. Interestingly these teachers even did not take pain to inform the department the reasons for their not turning up.
Taking a serious note, the DIOS Mahendra Singh Yadav ordered stoppage of salary of erring examiners. A letter to this effect has been sent to the managers and principals of the colleges concerned. DIOS justified his step stating that he had power under the section 108-109 of Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad Act to take action like stoppage of salary. Even, the DIOS said, there was no need to seek approval from Madhyamik Shiksha Sewa Chayan Board for action against erring teachers.
Similarly, as many as 90 examiners of physical education had not so far submitted the marks list to the Board which has caused delay in giving final shape to the results of the colleges concerned. The DIOS has warned that if they failed to do so within two days, then severe action would be taken against the erring teachers.
Coming down heavily against the order, the State secretary of Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh, Bajrangi Singh, said that the decision of DIOS violated Section 18 of Chapter 3 of Intermediate Act.
He said that the DIOS had no power to withhold the salary on this issue, so he should withdraw his order immediately.
Meanwhile a meeting of Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shikshak Sangh was held which condemned the district administration for its failure in trace out of the kidnapped principal of RP Rastogi Inter College, Udai Narayan Tiwari. District president Sabhajit Tiwari flayed the DIOS for his action of stopping of salary of teachers who did not take part in the evaluation work.
