Addressing the block level government programmes review meeting at Vikas Bhawan district magistrate also pulled up Saidabad block development officer for not taking proper interest in the implementation of government schemes in the area. He expressed dissatisfaction over the slow progress of family planning camps in Handia and Dhanupur.

He said due to active participation of block development officers other blocks have achieved 70 to 80 per cent family planning target.

He said the Gram Pradhans who will refer atleast 50 people to the family planning camp will be sanctioned a fund of Rs one lakh under SGRY scheme for development of the village. Special other facilities will also be provided to that Gram Pradhan, he added.

Amrit Abhijat said in order to motivate and sensitise block development officers about various government schemes the chief development officer should organise a workshop on 'role of block development officers in different aspects of development' in collaboration with GB Pant Social Science Institute. In the present circumstances the meaning and dimension of development has changed and the block development officers need to be sensitised in this regard.

The block development officers complained that ignoring the government orders many primary schools are approving RB type ceilings whereas they are provided funds for RCC ceilings. DM directed the basic shiksha adhikari to take strict action against such schools.

The block development officers have full power to stop construction work of all such schools, he said.

He said the block development officers should also prepare an advance work plan to deal with drought like situation in the district.
