"It does not matter which team wins the final Test, but the result of the series is vital for the success of the Pakistan-India event which is bigger than Ashes series," Dungarpur said.

The former BCCI President also called upon the Pakistani players to keep a check on their emotions after Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Sami and Shahid Afridi were seen exchanging heated words with Indian batsmen during the first two Tests at Lahore and Faisalabad.

"It was the home team players who started verbal clashes with our batsmen," Dungarpur was quoted as saying by The News on Saturday.

"They (Pakistan players) should avoid their remarks in order to sustain the friendly atmosphere in future matches between the two countries," he said.

When asked to comment on Sourav Ganguly, Dungarpur said: "Ganguly's controversy should be erased. I have had no differences with him as he has been remarkable throughout this tour as a team member".
