The TADA court on Thursday granted time, to surrender till January 18 to actor Sanjay Dutt and seven others convicted in the 1993 bomb blasts case.

The court on December 19 had extended Sanjay's bail till December 21. However, to his relief, the deadline to surrender was extended further.

On January 18, the court will hear Dutt's application to waive his punishment under Probation of Offenders Act and also arguments on his quantum of sentence.

The others, whose bail was extended till January 18 are: Somnath Thapa, Imtiaz Ghawte, Kersi Adjania, Dayamusa Bhivandiwala, Zebunisa Kazi, Rusi Mulla and Yusuf Nallwala.

However, special judge Pramod Kode asked Somnath Thapa and Kersi Adjania to remain present on January 5, as both were absent today.

Hundred out of the total 123 accused in the bomb blasts case have been convicted. The court is currently hearing the defence's arguments on quantum of punishment.
